OVERVIEW
Changi Airport is one of the world's most saturated travel retail environments, where luxury product offers risk collapsing into commodity noise. For the House of Suntory limited-edition release, showing up on shelves was not enough. The campaign needed to disrupt the traveler journey, shifting consumers from passive observers to purposeful collectors by transforming a whisky bottle into an unmissable encounter with Japanese artistry and craftsmanship.
THE STRATEGY & FUNNEL
We deployed three precision media layers, each assigned a distinct psychological role along the traveler lifecycle:
- Pre-Trip Engagement: Delivered high-impact video across premium editorial environments to showcase scale, heritage, and bottle craftsmanship during initial travel planning.
- Institutional Credibility: Leveraged strategic partnerships with The Straits Times to lend national authority, fortifying the edition's rarity and collector legitimacy.
- Precision Geotargeting: Combined Meta ads with Navigator geo-fencing to close the funnel, intercepting travelers at the exact moment of airport arrival and guiding them directly to the Duty Zero store.
CREATIVE & EXECUTION
The visual identity mirrors Japanese minimalism and natural elements, incorporating warm timber lattices, glowing display cases, and traditional artwork. From high-impact digital screens to a dedicated "Duty Zero" physical pop-up counter, the creative highlights Suntory's master blending heritage (Hibiki, Yamazaki, Hakushu, Toki) through an immersive cultural experience inside the terminal.
